This villa far exceeded our expectations, it was set in the most beautiful location and had everything that we needed for a week off work! I travelled with 14 of my friends and we are definitely thinking about returning next year.
The owners were extremely friendly and very helpful. The booking was easy and the information we received about the villa and surrounding area was brilliant.
The best aspects for us were the massive pool and the outside courtyard with the outside kitchen, where we spent every evening cooking up a storm and there was plenty of space around the table for everyone!
The villa is beautifully decorated and in great condition, plenty of space and there’s absolutely everything you need for a great holiday.
It was great value for money so if you’re thinking of booking this place then – do it!!

We stayed at El Almendrillo from 7-14th September 2013. From the moment we booked to when we left, Mikes (the owner) help was invaluable. The Finca is just stunning with the individual bedroom to the 3 kitchens!
The outside is a must! The views from the poolside were spectacular, lucky as that is where all 3 generations spent most of the time. Mike’s directions and guide were spot on and we left only to find the supermarket and the waterfall, which was an amazing find. The whole family cannot wait to come back and would recommend this beautiful place to everyone.

Amazing week in an amazing place
We stayed at the Finca for a week in August 2013 to celebrate our collective 30th birthdays. I’m sure I speak for the whole group when I say the Finca well exceed our expectations, it was beautiful and felt like a real home, from the moment we walked in tired and hungry to be greeted with a welcome pack of bread, cheese and beers to the moment we left we had the best time.
The house is stunning, each room is unique and the owners’ style shines through, this makes it feel like so much more than a holiday home. The outdoor spaces are wonderful, each have been cleverly thought through, there’s always a shady spot to move to, and each area sits the whole group, so everyone can be together at once, or equally find a quiet spot alone to read a book. Every little thing had been thought of in the house, and it was stocked with plenty of huge pans and crockery to feed twenty people each night!
We only left the villa once to have dinner in the local restaurant, but I could have happily stayed within the Finca for the full 7 days and not got tired of it! We spent most of the week around the pool, staring at the incredible unspoilt views across the Sierra Nevada. Mike was a pleasure to deal with in the lead up to the holiday, answering our every question, and was so hospitable when it came to arranging rooms and cots etc for the kids. He also had loads of helpful tips about the local area, and car hire, and his directions to the villa were spot on! Booking a holiday for twenty people is sometimes tricky but Mike made it easy. We didn’t’ want to leave, and are already talking about going back in a couple of years.

Once again we enjoyed charming Almendrillo
Four years ago, in June 2009, we spent a lovely week at Almendrillo with my husband’s family. The charming Farmhouse was excellent for a large family of three generations to spend time together while at the same time being able to enjoy privacy when needed.
There was room in and around the house for everyone to enjoy themselves as they liked best. Whether you prefer to play or sunbathe by the pool or to sit in a quiet shady place enjoying the tremendous panoramic view over the hills, you will find it at Almendrillo. So when we decided to spend a weeks’ vacation with good friends in Spain this summer, our choice was easy.
This time we were three families, six adults and seven children (tweens and teens). We were happy to revisit the place and our friends were as excited as we about the cozy, authentic and yet luxurious comfort and atmosphere at the Almendrillo Farmhouse. We combined our stay at Almendrillo with a visit to the Alhambra (Granada), Cordoba, Sierra Nevada, Malaga Beach and even Gibraltar. All these sites and many more can be reached by car within reasonable time.

Spectacular setting for a large group holiday
Just to say what a fabulous place you have and we enjoyed it immensely! From the exciting approach on arrival to our final farewell photo taken by one of the cleaning crew we would not have changed a thing!
The location is simply stunning and the pool probably the main attraction as adults and kids spent most of every day in and around it! Plenty of space for everyone and loved the rustic yet tasteful and characterful fixtures and fittings!
Will cherish the views and memories.

Finca El Almendrillo is just fabulous. Our group (ten adults and seven children) couldn’t have been happier here. It’s in the middle of the most beautiful countryside where you really feel like you’ve escaped and can relax immediately. So many bedrooms, doubles, singles, adjoining family rooms, ensuite shower rooms, cots and highchairs – perfect for large groups. Plus so many areas to hang out, play pool and table tennis, the children can play on scooters and bikes, chill on the hammock… and not to forget the pool… Huge! There’s a cupboard full of toys too – we took some down to the pool area and the kids sat in the shaded area while the adults played ‘lilo wars’… Handy loo and shower down beside the pool too – and plenty of sun loungers!
The cobbled area with the bbq is fantastic – table is large enough to fit everyone. We’d move round to the other terrace about 9pm when the view was extra special – honestly, bring a good camera as you want to capture this view!
The owner, Mike, was very helpful, as was Andy and also Ken – who we used for an airport transfer for one of the families. The rest of us hired cars – Mike’s directions to the house were spot on, as was his advice on where to shop and when. I helped with the supermarket shop on the first day and didn’t leave the house until we were on our way to the airport to return home. And I can safely say I didn’t want to leave. A week just wasn’t long enough. I would recommend this place to anyone – even the simple things like good, white linen on the beds, plenty of towels for everyone, a utility room, fans in all the rooms (much nicer than air conditioning), two fridges in the kitchen, and a very reasonable masseuse, oh and not to forget caterers, that will come to the house (!!) make it the type of place you’d want to return to. Book this place while you can!

Another incredible week at the Finca
This is second time we’ve been to the Finca, and if it was an option, I think we’d buy the place. We’re a group of 15-20 friends, and we try to go away together every couple of years. The finca is by far and away the best place we’ve been to. It’s in the most incredible setting – secluded, lots of privacy but good to get to from Malaga and Seville. The views are stunning.
The finca itself is huge, with lots of character, really well equipped and more room than we could have asked for. The pool is the largest we’ve encountered and the outdoor kitchen, courtyards and terraces are ideal for outdoor eating. Mike was a great help in arranging our trip, and an incredibly useful bonus was the option of having drinks ordered in advance to save us shopping trips and journey. This is a great place, and I can’t recommend it enough.

The perfect place for a celebration
In the 2 weeks we were at Finca el Almendrillo we had 60 guests each of whom stayed 4 nights and, without exception, they thought it was the most wonderful venue. We were all amazed by the staggering view, the rural peace and quiet, the comfortable accommodation, the impressive pool and the numerous interesting places to visit within reasonable reach.
Mostly we were able to dine out in the delightful courtyard (with Spanish cuisine provided by the excellent caterers laid on for us by the owners, Mike and Emma) and on cooler evenings we were all able to eat in the Casita in front of a roaring fire. The large number of toys were also a great help in keeping the children happy when it was too cool or too sunny to be outside.
We would have found the whole experience incredibly daunting without the very personal help given to us by Mike & Emma who went out of their way to give us every assistance before, during and after our stay.
We can thoroughly recommend a stay at Finca el Almendrillo.
