This is the heart of The Cortijo with a beautiful open fire. Here you can chill out on a sofa and chat to the ‘cooks’. Once you have cooked up a feast, bring the party around the huge wooden farmhouse table to enjoy the food.
And if you don’t fancy cooking, it is possible to have authentic Spanish food at home, with Francisco, our visiting chef. Formerly a chef at the local 5* Bobadilla Hotel his menu includes Spanish delicacies like black rice paella with squid ink and sea food, fish in a traditional Basque sauce, baked cheese rolled in ham and salmon with creamed asparagus as well as traditional tapas.
The Cortijo is fully equipped to ensure that your holiday is just that. Mod cons include dishwasher, washing machine and fridge freezer, tv with video/dvd player, CD player and radio.
The Gran Sala, on the top floor of The Cortijo, is a large living room (11×3.5m), with stunning views across the valley from a private balcony. Complete with wood burning stove, Italian leather armchairs and elegant wooden screened walls, it can be transformed into the perfect party room, yoga space, artists’ studio or just somewhere for some serious lounging.
